The Hundertwasser Krawina House (Hundertwasser Krawina Haus) is one of Vienna's (Wiens) best known residential buildings and fascinates with its playful, nature inspired architecture. Designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser together with the architect Josef Krawina, it deliberately breaks with straight lines and strict facades. Colorful surfaces, irregular shapes, planted terraces, and trees that seem to grow out of the building give it its unmistakable character. Especially striking are the wavy floors, the different windows, and the lively use of color, which make the house appear almost like a lived in work of art. Hundertwasser wanted to create a more human and more individual style of building, in which nature and living are more closely connected. From the outside, the building is a popular photo spot and attracts visitors from all over the world. It stands as a prime example of Hundertwasser's idea of making architecture more emotional, freer, and closer to people.
